THE BEST TIME TO GIVE IS WHEN YOU HAVE LITTLE

“For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me…He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ [Matthew 25:42-43, 45] NIV.

When you fail to give to your neighbor, the less privileged or widows you are equally failing to give to Jesus thus giving Him an impression that whatever you have is enough. God’s blessing knows no limit, for as long as you continue to give, God will never stop giving to you. We want to be blessed yet we are limited in our service to God through giving. Do you want God to bless you? Then start with the little that you have. It may seem insufficient, but remember the poor widow in [Mark 12: 41-44], who gave the last two copper coins that her life depended on and Jesus recognized her offering. As a Christian, the same holds true with you, the best time to give to Jesus is when you do so out of the little you have.

In John 6:1-12 the scripture relates to us the time when Jesus was surrounded by multitudes who were hungry and He asked His disciples if they had bread to feed them. In their response they said there is a little boy with only five small loaves and two small fish. The boy willingly gave all that he had to Jesus who then blessed, multiplied and shared it among the multitudes. When everyone was well fed 12 baskets remained and they were given back to the boy. From this we learn that, Jesus can only bless that which is not withheld from Him.
