If there was ever a time when we had to be strong in God and rooted in His word, it is now. These are perilous times, I mean, times which reveal the state of our hearts. In most cases, we hide and speak what is seemingly the state of our heart whereas in reality it is not. Ask yourself this question – ‘do I TRULY believe God?’ I mean, when the time that calls for that belief comes, will you act in faith?

Whatever we are going through is not strange – it has been there all along, although camouflaged differently. In biblical times, there was Leprosy, which was a highly contagious disease that could not be cured. Today, we have the same problem camouflaged differently – COVID-19. Are you talking about economic backlash brought about by the COVID-19 Lockdown? In the time of Elijah, there was famine in the land for three and a half years due to the scarcity of rain. However, people of faith like the poor widow of Zarephath, survived. Her obedience to the word of God, which came through His servant, brought about redemption and salvation to her family. In the same vein, this is the time for those who truly believe to show themselves through obedience and witness the Hand of God in their lives.

Matthew 7:24:27 says that everyone who hears the word and puts into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, but everyone who hears the word and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand, when challenges came it fell with a great crash. The question is, are you the wise man that built his house on the solid rock through obedience to the Word? Take note that it is not about what we go through but how we go through it that matters. Is it sickness, disease, poverty, troubles in marriage, loss of employment or a loved one? How you are going through that challenge will determine the outcome.

“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” [1 Corinthians 10:12-13 NIV]

Where can we find the way out – in the word of God. Our obedience to that very Word is our refuge, salvation and provision.

THE GRACE OF GOD IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU.
